Come Home to Yourself. Have you ever wondered why you keep feeling the way you do, why certain situations affect you so deeply, or why you spend so much time putting everyone else first? Perhaps you're overthinking, feeling overwhelmed, struggling in your relationships, or feeling a little lost. Maybe experiences from your past continue to affect how you see yourself, how you relate to others, or how you navigate life today. I'm Ally, a counsellor and psychotherapist, and I created Awaken Discovery to offer people the opportunity to pause, explore and reconnect with themselves. I believe we can spend so much of our lives trying to keep going, meet expectations and do what we think we should do that we lose touch with who we are and what we need. My approach is humanistic and relational. I don't believe therapy is about someone else telling you how to live your life or giving you all the answers. I believe you bring your own experiences, knowledge and understanding of yourself. Together, we can explore what's happening for you, recognise patterns, make sense of difficult feelings and discover new ways of understanding yourself and your experiences. I work with individuals, couples and young people aged 10 and over, supporting people with anxiety, overthinking, low self-esteem, emotional overwhelm, relationship difficulties, trauma, loss and life changes. My work can also include somatic approaches, exploring how experiences can affect us emotionally and physically. Where appropriate, we can gently explore bodily sensations and emotional responses, recognising the connection between mind and body and working at a pace that feels right for you. Whether you're struggling with something specific or simply feel that something in your life needs to change, you don't need to arrive with all the answers. We can begin wherever you are. Awaken Discovery is about making space for you — to understand yourself, reconnect with what matters to you, and discover what moving forward might look like on your terms. You don't have to have everything figured out. Sometimes, the most important place to begin is with yourself.
