Service Description

Monique is a fully trained Humanistic Integrative Counsellor working with individuals aged 16+. Monique can offer you a safe, confidential and supportive space for you to make sense of how you are feeling about the difficulties you face. It can be a daunting and overwhelming process to connect with your painful experiences and emotions in counselling; her role is to work to understand things from your point of view, to value you and be alongside you as you face your challenges and difficulties. Monique specialises in helping you acknowledge and identify your personal needs. She believes we all have the capacity to grow and become happy and fulfilled; in our work together, you will have the opportunity to consider what you need from your environment and your relationships in order for this to happen. Monique welcomes clients who are experiencing any kind of difficulty or distress including; feeling sad, depression, anxiety, stress, trauma, loneliness, relationship problems, family issues, self-blame, bereavement, low self confidence, low self-esteem and coping with change. Training, qualifications & experience; Monique is a fully qualified, registered member of the British Association of Counselling Psychotherapy (BACP) and practices according to the ethical framework set out by the organisation. She holds the following qualifications: Postgraduate Diploma (PGDip) in Counselling - York St John University Certificate in Counselling Studies - Filton College Certificate in Counselling Skills - Heartwood Institute BA hons in Drama - University of Exeter BACP registered membership number: 379654 Alongside her private counselling practice, Monique has previously worked at North Lindsey College in Scunthorpe where she worked with both students (aged 16+) and staff. She has also worked at a number of organisations offering long and short term counselling including the Haven Project in Hull, working with Refugees and Asylum seekers, and York Medical Group working with both adults and young people (aged 16+).
